Sources & References

How Deep Structure selects, presents and links the evidence behind its science coverage.

Last updated · August 21, 2026

What we prioritize

Source choice depends on the question. Mechanism claims usually begin with primary research and established scientific reference works. Broader conclusions may also use systematic reviews, consensus reports and major public health or research institutions.

  • Peer-reviewed primary studies
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Academic textbooks and indexed reference works
  • Official research, health and scientific institutions

How sources appear

Long-form articles include a Scientific Sources section with direct links whenever possible. The text should make clear which source supports a mechanism, which supports an observed effect and where researchers disagree.

Limits of the evidence

Publication does not make a finding permanent. New methods, larger samples or better-designed studies can change the most reasonable interpretation. Deep Structure updates coverage when new evidence materially changes the explanation.
